Levon Aronyan seeds 9-10 at 7.5 points

Fresh from the Fourth Moscow Tal Chess Tournement, Russian capital city launched Rapid Chess Championship in which Armenia’s Grand Master Levon Aronyan at 7.5 points seeded 9-10 alongside with Peter Svidler.

The tournament table is led by Viswanathan Anand at 12 points followed by Magnus Carlsen at 10 points. The former champion Anatoly Karpov earned 9 points; Kramnik and Grischuk have 8,5 points each; Ponomariov, Karjakin and Bareev earned 8 points each.

Levon Aronyan held a leadership positions after three rounds of tournament. In round four and five he lost to Ivanchuk and Kramnik, in round six drew with Vugar Gashimov; in round seven won over world champion Alexandra Kostenyuk; in round eight drew with Eugene Bareev, and in followed two rounds lost to Alexander Morozevich and Peter Svidler. In next rounds Aronyan played in draw with Ruslan Ponomariov, lost to Alexander Grischyuk, won over Shahriyar Mammadyarov, and won over Vladislav Tkachev.
