2010 budget to improve living standards
Armenian National Council is holding hearings on 2010 state budget. Yesterday the items of budget policy and its priorities were presented by Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisyan while Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan presented key economical issues.
At today’s Parliamentary session, member of Armenian Revolutionary Faction Dashnaktsutyun Ara Nranyan asked Armenian Minister of Finance whether he confirms that people will live worse next year, spend less, than this and last years, and so neither improvement in living standards is awaited. Tigran Davtyan, in his turn, said that assessment of living standards directly depend on GDP index which will increase by 1.2% next year providing improvement in living. When asked what steps were taken by government in connection with global world crisis, Tigran Davtyan said that all anti-crisis steps were repeatedly presented by Prime Minister and were issued.
“This year we took those steps which are not in often use when the economy is stable. I mean, the government has increasingly influenced economy, has provided direct lending and other activities,” said minister.
“The state must not such increasingly thrust itself in economy at usual times and won’t as when the economy little by little restore, the government stops increasingly influencing the economy,” he added.
