Nazik Avdalyan became the World Champion

The Armenian 19 year-old, woman weight-lifter Nazik Avdalyan in the South Korean city of Goyang where the world championship of the weight-lifting was taking place, became the winner in 69 w/c. By the first approach she raised the bar of 141 kg and overcame all her rivals. The Russian sportswoman Oksana Slivenko who was one of the candidates the champion and who had raised 140 kg bar for the first approach, had to order 146 kg bar, she overcame the obstacle but Nazik ordered 147 kg bar and became the world champion. The third try lost its meaning. With the result of 266 kg Nazik became also the winner of the gold medal too. To the collection of the Armenian team is added 3 more gold medals.

The second and the third places took Oksana Slivenko and Shaoli Zhang by 146 and 136 kg results. The Russian sportsman received the silver medal with the result of 264kg, and the third place of the championship was held by Zhang who was satisfied with the 248 kg result.
