International Energy Conference launches in Batumi
Today in Georgian Batumi city launches the International Energy Conference on which partake governmental delegations from 12 countries. At first they were planning to have a summit instead of the conference, but the format of the meeting was changed.
As the sources inform, on the conference will be present the representatives from Baltic countries, Rumania, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan as well as the USA delegation headed by Richard L. Morningstar, Secretary of State's Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy.
If the format was not changed at the end, presidents Ilham Aliev, Leh Kachinski and Victor Yushchenko would also participate in the summit.
As the Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri told to the journalists this economic event is tended to develop the South Energy Corridor and to hold discussions on the West Europe’s Caspian power-generating.
