Armenia’s Ombudsman Office turns one year old
Today, Armenia’s Ombudsman Office has turned one year old. At the celebration ceremonies in occasion of the anniversary, Finance Ombudswoman of Armenia, Phiruz Sarkisian told journalists some official reports on Office’s activities over the year.
The Office investigated 378 complaints about activities by financial organisations, according to Mrs. Sarkisian.
“We’ve investigated complaints, of these nearly 70% received solutions in favor of customs,” she said. “We’ve returned more than 23 million drams.”
According to Mrs. Phiruz Sarkisian’s announcement, the Office jointly with Armenia’s Central Bank will hold a forum on April 5-7 which is expected to be attended by counterparts from Great Britain, France, and Holland, as well as representatives of the CIS member’s control services.
Armenia’s Ombudsman Office was found by Central Bank of Armenia. Its objectives are to investigate complaints and mediate fair settlements between aggrieved parties. It’s worth mentioning that applications are free of charge.
