'Student Station' may open on Qanaqer-Zeytun railway track
The working group, involving officials from the Municipality of Yerevan and leaders of the South Caucasus Railways, observed on Thursday the Qanaqer-Zeytun railway track.
The key objective of today’s observation was to discuss project of reopening of the Student Station, which is located on Qanaqer-Zeytun railway track, a spokesperson for the South Caucasus Railways said.
The joint project has been starting since 2009 when a letter was sent to Armenia’s Voice paper on behalf of numerous residents of Yerevan city, with proposals to reopen the station. For the SCR, a spokesperson said that the company is interested in growing of passengers’ number. Due to problems of dust-holes as well as the existing here buildings, the project is being carried jointly with the Municipality of Yerevan for a comprehensive solution to the problem.
Representatives of both Municipality of Yerevan and the South Caucasus Railways reached an agreement to observe the track on a regular basis to design an optimal way to solve the issue.
