Chess Grand Prix Tournament participants list published
FIDE has published the definitive Chess Grand Prix Tournament participants list. According to report, the tournament will take place on May 9-25 2010 in Russia’s Astrakhan.
It’s worth mentioning, that regardless of the results of the last round Armenia’s Levon Aronian is recognized as tournament’s winner and with the consent of FIDE will not play in Astrakhan.
Armenia is reported will be represented by another chess player, Vladimir Akopian, who will play against Boris Gelfand (Israel), Peter Leko (Hungary), Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Ruslan Ponomariov (Ukraine), Pavel Elianov (Ukraine), Peter Svidler (Russia), Dmitry Yakovenko (Russia), Evgeny Alekseev (Russia), Ernesto Inarkin (Russia), Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan), Mamedyarov Shahryar (Azerbaijan), and Vn Yue (China), a spokesperson for Armenia’s Chess Federation said.
