“Azerbaijan blowing the balloon of illusions”

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Qocharyan gave an interview to “MEDIAMAX” News Agency. The interview referred to some statements made by the Azerbaijani President on NKR conflict settlement.

Question: Mr. Qocharyan, yesterday the President of Azerbaijan made some statements on Karabakh conflict settlement. How would you comment on those statements?

Answer: Mr. Aliev as usual made a monologue about a dialogue which actually didn’t take place. According to that monologue Azerbaijan has finished the negotiations held with itself and whatever it gained of those talks is within the interests of Azerbaijan itself. In some cases Azerbaijan is not able to reach an agreement with itself too.

After getting the inherited power president Aliev preserved the right to talk on behalf of time, international right, mediators, peoples of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

Baku pretends that it doesn’t realize the fact that there is no other choice but recognizing the independence of the NKR. The NKR is a state that corresponds to the norms of international rights, which managed to face the ethnic cleansing policy and aggression of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, being forced to sign a ceasefire with the NKR, has recognized its independence since 1994.

The statements on the conflict settlement made by President Aliev prove that they are not ready to hold a constructive dialogue.
They blow the balloon of illusions in Azerbaijan, occurred because of the oil fever and the endless falsifications over the essence of the conflict and the process of negotiations. They do not stop making warlike statements. Azerbaijan has the opportunity to withdraw its troops from the NKR occupied territories and start talks till the balloon of illusions and falsifications blows up.
