March’s suicide toll of Army of Azerbaijan reaches 3

18-year-old Tagiyev Aykhan Gambar oglu was found dead after being registered absent at the regular evening rollcall, Azerbaijan’s APA agency reports.

After founding out that the first-year cadet of the Army of Azerbaijan Tagiyev Aykhan Gambar oglu is absent at the rollcall, Army’s staff started search activities and found him dead hanging from a tree at the college’s courtyard.

As it was reported, Tagiyev committed suicide by hanging himself from the three. Country’s officials are investigating the incident.

It’s worth mentioning that this suicide is the third in a row over this month in Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces: Azerbaijani Army's ensign of the Kyurdamir Unit Guseinov Asim Arzuman oglu (born in 1988) committed suicide on March 24; Azerbaijani Army’s soldier Elchin Abdulazimov of the Goran Unit committed suicide on March 1.

Experts say that mostly these cases are related to the moral atmosphere in the Army of Azerbaijan. County’s media reported that since January 2010 up to the date 4 incidents happened in the Army of Azerbaijan, leaving 9 soldiers and officers killed by staff of the Armed Forces of the republic.
