European organisations to join to improve elections in Azerbaijan

Some joint between EU, OSCE, and the Council of Europe projects are reported to be presented in Azerbaijan in a bid to prepare for scheduled for November 7 parliamentary elections in the country.

“The projects’ key objective is to support efforts by government and other structures in a bid to streamline the election conditions and to bring it in line with the OSCE norms, democratic elections standards, and Azerbaijan’s obligations to the CE,” said in the statement by organizations.

The support and assistance will mainly be rendered in strengthening the political dialogue and potential, independence of the Electoral Commission and media; it will provide medi in Azerbaijan with opportunity of neutral, full, and independent covering the elections; the projects will also aim at stimulating interest in elections among public, including women and youths.
