New Schengen Visa Code comes in force
A new code comes into effect since April 5 for short stay visas for the 22 EU and 3 non-EU Schengen states, making visa-getting procedure faster and streamlining the legal issuing conditions.
The standard fee for a short-stay visa costs 60 euros for U12-applicants, while fee for a short-stay visa for children at age 6-12 will cost 35 euros.
“We are introducing, for the first time, clear deadlines for the request and the final answer,” the European Commission spokesman said.
Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland are the Schengen states.
