Kyrgyzstan mourns for victims of deadly street clashes
Head of the provisional people's government of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva has announced days of mourning for victims of the deadly street clashes, occurred in the country on April 7, resulting in more than 75 deaths. Nearly thousand people were injured after widespread riots in which security forces opened fire on opposition protesters.
“Mourning ceremonies will be held in Kyrgyzstan on April 9-10; state flags will be brought down half-way,” said Roza Otunbayeva.
The new rulers announced plans for elections in six months time; local officials said that the current situation in the country is stable thank to joint efforts by police, officers of the armed forces, and volunteer squads.
