''GDP growth to give positive impetus to Armenian economy''
“5.5percent of GDP growth at the first quarter of 2010 is quite good index. This allows us to think that the negative consequences of the crisis are withdrawing,” Yerevan State University lecturer of the Faculty of Economics Karlen Khachatryan said.
He assessed the growth of the scales of industrial production (10.4%), and electric power production (9.4%) as positive.
The analyst considers it encouraging that 60 percent growth has been observed in the exporting scales, while the index for import shows 20 percent.
“Thus, we can expect the GDP growth to give positive impetus to the Armenian economy. This will, surely, accelerate the process of overcoming the crisis,” he highlighted.
