S. Avetisyan’s vision on agricultural development
Today at the round table titled the “The prospective of the development of agriculture in Armenia” were discussed the issues concerning the agriculture. The round table was organized by the Armenian branch of the Heifer Project International.
The discussions are aimed at introducing the public organizations of the agricultural sphere to the main strategic directions of developing agriculture in Armenian republic and to discuss the presenting issues in that sphere.
Samvel Avetisyan the deputy minister of the RA Ministry of Agriculture introduced the guests to the vision of the Government concerning the development of the Agriculture, which is “Developing of the agricultural trade organizations, cooperatives and development of market info-structures together with the family agriculture by using intensive technologies.”
S. Avetisyan thinks that overcoming the poverty in villages and supporting with the non agricultural business has a key significance.
“All the conversations will be useless if we do not have workers for alternative works. It shouldn’t be allowed that 504 thousand people were included in agriculture, as the statistics service proves. It’s not realistic, the other branches shouldn’t be developed,” the deputy minister stated.
He also pointed out some positive changes; the VAT (Value Added Tax) of cultivation of many agricultural plants is growing. According to the deputy minister in Ararat region was being cultivated only wheat while today they are planting orchards.
