Shanghai World Expo 2010's grand opening ceremony tonight
The grand opening ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 will take place this evening, gathering numerous guests for participation in the event.
The theme of the Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life," representing the common wish of the whole humankind for a better living in future urban environments. This theme represents a central concern of the international community for future policy making, urban strategies and sustainable development.
Shanghai World Expo 2010 will open from May 1 to October 31. 70 million guests are expected to attend the expo. Aysor’s correspondent reported from the place that among participants are 192 nations and 50 international organisations. Armenian Pavilion has already been opened, gathering Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, members of the Armenian delegation to China, and numerous guests.
It’s worth mentioning that President Serzh Sargsyan is on a visit to China at the invitation of the Paramount Leader of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Hu Jintao. Armenian delegation to China includes Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsian, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisian, and other officials.
This will be the third time Armenia participates in the event at Shanghai Expo, following the participation in 2000 (Hanover, Germany) and in 2005 (Aichi, Japan).
