Iranian ex-minister injured in armed attack
Former Iranian Minister of Communications Ahmed Motamedi was stabbed early Monday by a knife-wielding intruder at his university office in Tehran and was hospitalized with wounds to his chest. It’s not clear, why an attack on Ahmed Motamedi was committed.
Motamedi served as communications minister under the pro-reform government of former President Mohammad Khatami. He is also a backer of Iranian opposition; however, he is not considered a high-profile role in protests against the ruling system that have followed last year's disputed presidential election.
