Georgia to go to Moscow parade when Saakashvili steps down
Former Georgian Prime Minister, leader of the oppositional Party of Justice of Georgia Zurab Nogaideli on his comeback from Moscow said that the Georgian Army will participate in the Moscow Parade on the Victory Day when Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakashvili steps down.
“Saakashvili will be away, and the Georgian Army will participate in the parade on Red Square. I believe, this will be,” Nogaideli told journalists.
Zurab Nogaideli in contradistinction to his counterpart at opposition Nino Burjanadze didn’t participate in the parade on Red Square, but attended the ceremony of laying the foundation stone at the Poklonnaya Hill, where a copy of the Memorial of Glory, exploded in Georgia’s Kutaisi, will be installed.
Nogaideli stressed he had been invited to attend all events in dedication to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow; however, he said there is a reason not to do so: “I think, being an oppositionist I have to participate in certain events, and in some of them – only after coming to power.”
