Agasi Inants again wins at Champs in Sarajevo
In round eight of the Open Chess Championship, taking place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hezegovina, Armenia’s Agasi Inants gained the third victory in a row and scored 16 points out of 24, following the leaders by a point.
Grand Master Davit Petrosian played in draw and brought the number of his points to 12.
The tournament’s leaders at 19 points are Wang Hao from China, Timofeev Artyom from Russia, Bologan Viktor from Moldova, and Kovacevic Aleksandar from Serbia.
Armenian Chess Federation spokesperson said that Davit Petrosian lost his chance to overtake the leaders, while Agasi Inants still can try his luck in the two rest rounds.
Under the tournament’s rules in case of victory chess players add 3 points to their results, and only a point in case of playing in draw.
