Georgian carrier sends request to Russia’s Transport Ministry
A private Georgian airline has sent a request to the Russian Transport Ministry for approval of some 12 direct charter flights between Tbilisi and Moscow within the period from late May to early July, Russian media reported.
“We’ve sent a request and are waiting for a respond, expecting a positive resolution,” Georgian Airways spokeswoman Nino Giorgobiani said Thursday evening in the interview aired by Kavkasia channel.
In particular the flights are scheduled for May 24, 26, 27, 29 and 31; June 2, 3, 6, 9, 28, 30; and July 1.
Besides, Nino Giorgobiani said that the regular flights are possible if the governments will “make a political decision.” She said hopes the restored flights between the two countries won’t turn into the subject for political speculations.
