Russia-US Arms Control Treaty slashes Cold War
The Obama administration has submitted to the Senate a new nuclear arms treaty reached with Russia last month, when Obama and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev signed an agreement, in Prague, to replace the 1991’s Strategic Arms Control Treaty.
In a letter to the Senate, Obama said the treaty will enhance the security of the U.S. and "promote transparency and predictability" between the U.S. and Russia regarding weapons and nuclear arsenals.
If both Russia and the United States ratify the treaty, it will mark the slash of the former Cold War between the countries.
