No need for further sanctions against Iran, says Davutoglu
Turkey sees "no need" for further sanctions against Iran as a nuclear deal has already been signed in Tehran after talks between Turkey, Brazil and Iran, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu told reporters.
"This agreement should be regarded positively and there is no need for sanctions now that we (Turkey and Brazil) have made guarantees and the low enriched uranium will remain in Turkey," he said.
The nuclear deal was reached during nearly 18-hour talks between Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran, who agreed to swap 1,200 kg of its low-enriched uranium for higher-enriched nuclear fuel in Turkey.
