CE officials dissatisfied with passivity of women in Azerbaijan
“It’s necessary to ensure an active involvement of women into the political and public activities of Azerbaijan as well as to ensure the growth of number of female-lawmakers in the Parliament,” said Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio at the meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ombudsman Elmira Suleimanova in Baku.
Speaking to Azerbaijani Parliament Mrs Boer-Buquicchio also noted the necessity of approving a law on measures against domestic violence and abuse and paid an attention to the issue of seminars for judges involving international experts.
There are 14 female-lawmakers out of 125 deputies in the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Trend Agency reported.
