Lavrov calls Turkey to ensure safety of Russian tourists
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov telephoned his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu Tuesday and stressed the importance of measures to ensure safety of the Russian tourists in Turkey.
“Lavrov said that Russian side is ready to organise rescue operations and assistance to the victims and their relatives. It was strongly stressed the necessity of measures to ensure safety of the Russian tourists in Turkey and necessity of responsibility of tour operators for lives and health of people,” said in the Foreign Ministry’s statement.
Ahmet Davutoglu offered his condolences over the bus crash in southern Turkey that killed 16 Russian tourists and injured 25 others on May 24.
Beyond the item of the Russian tourism to Turkey, parties discussed last developments in the process of talks on the Iranian nuclear program, shared views on other international issues, and talked about Russian-Turkish relations.
