Armenia looks forward to sign a free trade agreement with EU
Within the framework of his visit to Belgium, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan has met with EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht, said a spokesperson to the Armenian State Administration.
The parties discussed the process of signing of a free trade agreement with EU.
President Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia pays a great attention to the deal, as the EU is one of the largest trade partners for Armenia. He added that Armenia, which comes as a member of the World Trade Organization since 2003, had undertook serious reforms in that sphere and took progressive steps towards the standards required by the European Commission.
“Being aware of the complicated and of great volume process of signing the deal, we look forward to your effective contribution to the process to speed it up to reach a result,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
