Report on Armenia to be presented at UN conference
UN Conference will be held this November in Geneva. A report on the competition sphere in Armenia will be presented. UN experts are in Armenia for that purpose, Chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) Artak Shaboyan told a press briefing today.
“We rate it very important to have an objective picture of the situation in the competition sphere,” he said.
Ulla Schwager, an expert in the Competition Law and Policy Branch, UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) said that the report will focus on the legal aspect of competition, its use, SCPEC collaboration with other structures. The comprehensive program of technical support to Armenia will be also presented and the donors to be able to assist with the program will be determined.
Ms. Schwager reported that some 300-400 delegates from UNCTAD member-states will attend the UN conference.
Note that a report on a country is presented at UN conference every year. A report on Turkey was presented last year.
