Arab states agree to ignore Israel's blockade of Gaza
Arab states will ask the UN Security Council to demand an end to Israel's blockade of Gaza, Chief of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, announced on Thursday after ministers met to respond to Israel's attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla.
"The Arab League will go to the Security Council and demand lifting of the blockade from Gaza," Amr Moussa said at the press conference after the talks. "There must be steps taken to end the siege. We ask all nations to ignore the Gaza blockade and send aid to Gaza to break the blockade,” he said.
Amr Moussa pointed that there had been taken steps towards the call as Egypt opened the border with Gaza letting Palestinians cross until further notice amid a storm of international criticism of Israel's blockade.
