Armenian meat food is much better than that of Moscow...
“Meat food local production is in a very good condition. They work by the Austrian technology, everything is clean, we have checked the meat, they mainly use the Austrian mixture and when asked whether they use food additives they say they do not,” Consumers National Academy expert Melita Aristakesyan told a press conference today mentioning that the academy experts have lately carried out checks in meat food processing enterprises.
Mrs. Aristakesyan assured that almost all enterprises work by European standards. According to her, buffalo meat use in sausage processing is allowed by the standard.
The expert mentioned that producers mostly avoid mentioning the food additives in the markings.
There is a list of banned food additives. E240 has been banned in Moscow market for 10 years, while people do not know that and mark meat food with that additive – a very dangerous substance not used in Armenia. Visiting meat food processing enterprises we checked and found out that this food additive is not used in Armenia at all,” M. Aristakesyan assured.
Mrs. Aristakesyan in response to Aysor.am question of whether they just asked or carried out analyses said: “It is not a matter to be found out by asking only, a laboratory testing is being implemented.”
While, the expert answered nothing to a correspondent’s question of why sausage price is 1300-1500 drams while 1 kg meat costs 2000-2500 drams.
