Third International DigiTec Business Forum in Yerevan

The Third International DigiTec Business Forum Exhibition will take place in Yerevan on June 9-10. The theme for this year’s forum is “Dialogue of Business and Technologies.” The forum is organised by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UITE) and aims at promotion of using of the informational and telecommunication technologies in the economical and other spheres. Its focus is also to present both Armenian and international IT products and services aiming at modernization of other spheres.

“By assessment of using the IT, Armenia takes the last place, while it is number one producer of the qualified services,” told Aysor UITE’s Director Karen Vardanian. He pointed that those products made in Armenia have use neither in business nor in the governmental management.

“With an aim to solve this situation, we have decided to hold this forum that aims at using the informational technologies in the business,” he said adding that the list of participants of the event includes nearly 1,500 people.

The forum will gather together participants from Eastern and Western Europe, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Romania, Macedonia and Moldova. The event includes conferences, seminars and presentations in addition to the forum. Included in the main services of the presented programs are banking, financial sectors, small and middle businesses, tourism, transportation, medical and pharmaceutical industries, etc.

The forum was held for the first time in 2008. More than 1200 representatives of the governmental management and private business participated in 2008’s event. Number of participants increased to 1,500 in 2009. This year more than 5,000 invitations were sent.
