British Airways cabin crew sets for a new five-day strike
British Airways cabin crew is set to begin a new five-day strike, the third and last in their current series of walkouts, BBC reported.
The strike, which is expected to last Saturday to next Wednesday, is the latest stoppage in a long-running dispute on pay, staffing levels and working conditions.
The first five-day strike was held from May 24 to May 28; during these days the company grounded some third of flights. The second strike was held from May 30 to June 3.
The most recent talks with the Unite union failed on June 1 and further negotiations may be stalled by Chief Executive Officer Willie Walsh’s trip to Germany to attend the annual gathering of the International Air Transportation Association.
