Warsaw may be hit by floods
Poland’s capital of Warsaw may be hit by the crest of flooded Vistula River, largest river in the country, after heavy rains pounding central and eastern Europe have broken defenses all along Vistula, causing weeks of flooding.
Warsaw’s officials have launched a new alert for the city as it’s expected that Vistula River can produce a water-level rise of up to 8 meters.
Tens of thousands of people whose homes are threatened have been evacuated in recent days in southern regions of Poland.
