Turkey claims Israel to meet Turkish demands in ‘reasonable’ time
Administration of Abdullah Gül of Turkey has been threatening not to send its Ambassador back to Israel unless it receives an apology for Israeli deadly raid on Gaza-bound aid ships.
Included in Turkey’s demands are the apology for the attack on aid flotilla and returning of the seized ships. Turkish official who spoke on condition of anonymity added that Israel has to agree to an international investigation into the raid and offer compensation for the victims, as The Associated Press quoted him as saying.
Turkish Ambassador will not be sent back to Israel until the country takes steps toward meeting the demands. No time frame was given but the official said Turkey wanted its expectations to be met within a "reasonable" period of time.
Tensions between two allies appeared after Israeli attack on the international aid flotilla with pro-Palestinian activists on board. The raid occurred on May 31 and left 9 Turkish activists dead. Many others were wounded.
