Parliament in first hearing approves bill on language at schools
Armenia’s Parliament has approved in its first hearing a legislation that would bring in force the law on education in foreign languages in schools of Armenia.
The bill passed 71-13 (thirteen lawmakers voted against the new law); and one lawmaker abstained.
The initiative by government to open foreign schools in Armenia caused dissatisfaction and anger among political, social and public forces who opposed the initiative as they consider it to be “destroying” for Armenian language and national thinking and mind.
