UAE closes 40 firms following UN sanctions against Iran
It is reported that the United Arab Emirates has closed down 40 international and local firms following the UN sanctions against Iran.
The closed companies were dealing in "dual-use and dangerous materials banned under UN resolutions and the nuclear non-proliferation treaty," AFP quoted an unnamed UAE official as saying, citing the Gulf News.
"The UAE is committed to meet its obligations toward the global effort for non-proliferation of nuclear weapons,” the official said.
It was noted that this is the beginning of the campaign against Iran.
