One year after Michael Jackson's death
Friday, June 25, marks a year since The King of Pop, Michael Jackson's death.
Since Thursday Jackson's fans have been starting to commemorate and pay tribute to him one year after his death.
Many remembrances are planned for Friday, among them an event in Jackson’s hometown in Gary, Ind., parties at clubs and a moment of silence by the Rev. Al Sharpton in New York City. Fans are gathering together and lay wreaths at his star at the Stars’ Alley in Hollywood.
Close friends and family members are expected to gather Friday morning for a private service at Forest Lawn cemetery outside of Los Angeles, where Jackson is buried.
Jackson, 50, was found dead in his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25 last year.
