World Band to support road restoring in Armenia
The World Bank and Armenia’s government have signed an agreement on rehabilitation and renovation of 190 kilometers of roads in Armenia. The program’s cost is $50 million, of these $10 million will be provided by Armenia’s government, and other $40 million will be directed by the World Bank.
Armenia’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Manouk Vardanian told media Monday that nearly 10 billion drams, directed by the WB, will be spent in 2010 to renovate roads equal to 84 kilometers.
Minister pointed that in road works the home-made raw-materials are being used, reducing volumes of import of bitumen. He also said of 5,5 billion drams which are scheduled by the state budget for programs aimed at road construction and renovation in Armenia in 2010.
