Marilyn Monroe's chest X-rays fetch 45,000 (£29,900)
A set of three X-rays of Marilyn Monroe's chest were sold for $45,000 (£29,900) in Las Vegas on Sunday, AP reported. The price is reported was well above the estimated $800-$1200 they were expected to fetch.
Julien's Auctions, which sold the X-rays, estimated that they would only fetch up to $3,000 only.
Among other pieces the auction included a chair from Monroe's final photo shoot sold for $35,000 (£23,250), a prompt book from unfinished film Something's Got to Give and a bottle of Chanel perfume she owned.
There were also a pair of earrings worn by Kate Winslet in "Titanic" that sold for $25,000 and a dress Audrey Hepburn wore when she starred opposite Fred Astaire in the musical "Funny Face" that fetched $56,250.
