Armenia has resources to develop IT, says Craig Barrett
“Armenia has all resources for development and giving an impetus to the IT sphere,” told media Tuesday Intel Corporation’s former CEO, Chairman of the Board, Craig R. Barrett, a recipient of the Armenian Presidential Award.
Barrett, who had traveled to Armenia to accept the Presidential Award in IT, told reporters about his meeting with Armenia’s Prime Minister. Craig Barrett said that among highlights were various items from retraining courses for teachers of the primary school to issues of establishing the venture funds.
“I believe, that there will be taken certain steps in these directions,” said Barrett pointing that Intel Corporation conducted a survey of the semiconductors bought in the Soviet Unions 20 years ago, and those materials mostly were made in Armenia.
Berrett also said of his impression of Armenia: he said the hot weather here in Armenia reminds him of his home Arizona state.
