Iran intends to ban Coca-Cola in response to sanctions
Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is going to respond to the international sanctions against Iran through a ban on the western and American products. First of all, the ban will be put on Coca-Cola. Intel and IMB are also put on the blacklist.
The UN Security Council approved in May of 2010 new sanctions against Iran over its suspect nuclear program. The Resolution 1929 passed 12-2 with Brazil and Turkey voting against the measures and Lebanon abstaining.
The sanctions require countries to inspect ships or planes headed to or from Iran. Another aspect of the sanctions bars all countries from allowing Iran to invest in their nuclear enrichment plants, uranium mines and other nuclear-related technology, and sets up a new committee to monitor enforcement. Iran also meets ban on using the international bank systems.
