Gevorg Danielyan receives China’s Ambassador to Armenia

On July 9, Armenian Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan received Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Changchun, Spokesman for Justice Ministry reported. 

The sides mentioned the efficiency of some preparatory works done by the two countries Ministries of Justice in the sphere of legal cooperation and necessity to undertake some practical measures. They established that in a comparatively short period of time the two countries gained rich and valuable experience in many spheres of social and political life, and it will promote strengthening cooperation in the justice sphere.

Conveying Chinese Minister of Justice invitation to his Armenian counterpart the Chinese Ambassador stressed that they consider signing of an agreement on legal cooperation realistic in the near future. And prior to it, according to him, it is expedient to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two Ministries.

The sides arrived at a conclusion that currently the Chinese side can ensure useful cooperation by providing Armenian penitentiary system with modern equipment and reducing corruption risks in the sphere as well as preventing illegal drug circulation. The side mentioned that it is expedient to organize mutual visits to the two countries penitentiary institutions to study the situation in the sphere.

The sides also agreed to conduct joint studies to solve the employment problem in the penitentiary system and to find acceptable solutions.
