CIS informal summit to take place in Crimea
Ukrainian leader Victor Yanukovych is hosting in Crimea the informal CIS summit, which will match the celebrations on the occasion of Yanukovych’s birthday.
Victor Yanukovych turned 60 on July 9; however, he didn’t mark his birthday on the day as he was hosting Friday Mr Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council. Some sources reported that Yanukovych had had a small party marking his birthday with close friends and family on Friday evening.
The main party is reportedly to be marked in Crimea, where will gather guests of senior level for participation in the informal CIS summit. Among attendees is Russian President Dmitry Medvedev; Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is reportedly among guests. The summit will take place at the Livadiysky Palace near Yalta.
A spokesperson to Armenia’s State Administration told media yesterday that country’s President Serzh Sargsyan will arrive in Ukraine on July 10 to take part in the summit.
