Armenian-Polish business forum kicks off in Yerevan
Armenian-Polish business forum kicked off in Yerevan today. It was organized by the Armenian Development Agency within the framework of the Armenian-Polish intergovernmental commission first meeting.
Before the official opening of forum Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Mushegh Tumanyan and Polish Deputy Minister of Economy Marcin Korolec signed the protocol of intergovernmental commission first meeting. In their greeting speeches the two Ministers attached importance to active contacts between businessmen aimed at promoting Armenia-Poland business ties.
“We hope the ways and spheres of cooperation will be specified at the forum,” Mr. Tumanyan said.
Prospects of trade and economic relations and investments between the two countries were discussed at the forum. The general economic situation in Armenia was also presented.
Polish Minister of Economy, Minister of Environment, Deputy Minister of Transport, Polish Bank Association President and other high-ranking officials are included in the Polish delegation. Note that Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski’s official visit to Armenia starts today.
According to the National Statistical Service of Republic of Armenia, trade circulation between Armenia and Poland in 2009 amounted to USD 34.7m. Export was USD 0.7m, import 34m. In the 5 months of 2010 trade circulation increased by 6.9 percent amounting to USD 10.7m, including export – USD 14m and import USD 9.3m. Rubber, aluminium was exported from Armenia to Poland, ether oils, perfumes, cosmetic goods were imported.
