Action of protest in front of Presidential Palace in Azerbaijan
Over 100 residents of Sabirabad region of Azerbaijan and 7 villages in the area of disaster caused by the flood in the Kur River housing in Sabirabad schools and tents organized an action of protest in front of the Presidential Palace in Azerbaijan yesterday, Azadlıq reported.
The protesters wish to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to convey their protest on non-fulfillment of President’s orders to restore the disaster area by government members.
The protesters say that the 200-300 manats compensation sum established by the government is humiliating, it is not enough to restore their lost property. After the four-hour action of protest the protesters left the scene saying that unless their demands are fulfilled, they will gather their families to sleep in front of the Presidential Palace.
