Two killed in attack on a power station in Kabardino-Balkaria
A bomb and gun attack at a hydroelectric power plant in Russia's volatile North Caucasus region of Kabardino-Balkaria has killed at least two people (two guards) and injured two others. The armed attackers detonated four explosive devices in the 25-megawatt Baksan plant while a fifth failed to go off, media quoted prosecutors as saying.
The incident occurred early Wednesday, at 0525 local time, according to statements made by the company. "An explosion took place on the premises of the Baksanskaya hydroelectric power plant early Wednesday; two guards died, two people were hospitalized; the power plant's engine room was on fire,” they said.
It took almost three hours to contain a fire that followed the blasts, media quoted Emergencies Ministry workers as saying
