Situation in Azeri government strained on threshold of elections
Serious fermentations arose in the government on the threshold of the parliamentary elections to be held on November 7 in Azerbaijan, a governmental source informed Azadlıq.
According to the source, the governmental groupings are not going to make concessions to each other to gain more seats in the parliament. Therefore the Yeni Azerbaijan ruling party is not able to specify its candidates list so far. “The situation in the ruling party is strained.
Oligarches financing election campaigns demand not to disregard their interests. If oligarches’ interests are disregarded, confrontation in parliamentary elections will be inevitable and will grow into an open conflict. Groupings in the government will make a compromise war against each other,” the source concluded.
Publications against oligarch officials are already published in Azeri media, Azadlıq reported.
