“Kosovo is an independent state, and its territory is integral”

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton welcomed International Court of Justice ruling on Kosovo independence, U.S. Department of State statement mentions.

“The International Court of Justice issued an advisory ruling, thus agreeing to the United States stance that proclamation of Kosovo independence does not contradict the international law. We call all other countries for recognizing Kosovo independence,” the statement read.

In her opinion, “Kosovo is an independent state and its territory is integral.” The United States calls all countries for supporting current Kosovo status and strengthening peace and stability in the Balkans, according to the statement.

“Serbia and Kosovo are friends and partners to U.S. Now it is time that they put aside disagreements to move forward towards resolution of practical issues and improvement of life in Kosovo, Serbia and the whole region,” Clinton said.
