Court’s ruling can’t be limited over Kosovo only
“By the July 22 decision and ruling, the International Court of Justice in the Hague confirmed and legally justified that the right of nations to self-determination and its meeting doesn’t violate any principle of the international law, including the principle of territorial integrity,” said in the statement of Artsakh Foreign Ministry, released on July 24.
“That decision goes a long way in legislative, political and moral importance and has a universal significance, and its implementation can’t be limited only over Kosovo. People of Artsakh, calling into existence the right to build an independent state, was forced to resist the military aggression of Azerbaijan that resulted in thousands of deaths, while dozens of thousands were displaced and became refugees. All this still remains without any adequate opinion of the international community,” said in the statement.
It highlights that under circumstances when Azerbaijan implements an aggressive policy against Artsakh, people of Artsakh keep firm building a civil democratic state, making it the key component of the regional security system of the South Caucasus region.
“The right of people of Artsakh to build a state of own and to control their lives, will be surely recognized by the international community as it fully matches the basic principles of the international law and is a fair achievement,” it said.
