Saakashvili dropps on Pithecanthropus-like customs officials
Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakashvili demanded from country’s customs house to stop “humiliating travelers’ check” at Sarpi Checkpoint at the Georgian-Turkish border, Russian Interfax agency reported.
Georgian President said that because of hours of checking, people have to stand heat hours waiting for permission to enter Adjara. Saakashvili said he knows that a large group of Spanish tourists first ever traveled to Georgia from Turkey and was held at the checkpoint two hors.
“Believe me these Pithecanthropus-like actions deprived us of the tourists from Spain. We must cherish tourists and send them kisses, not subject them to humiliating checks through scanners,” Georgian leader said.
Saakashvili said: “What scientist knowledge is necessary to differentiate a 99% tourist from a 1% huckster and to check everyone at checkpoint under intense heat without making huge queue?”
In addition, Georgian President said would give the push to Sarpi Checkpoint officers including its chief, if in the near future the situation doesn’t change.
