Earthquake hits Iran
An earthquake measuring 5,7 hit Iranian north-eastern region Friday, injuring more than 100 people, local media reported.
The quake occurred at 6:21 local time with epicenter seven kilometers from town of Torbet Haiderie in Khorasan Province. Town’s major Mojtaba Sadeqian told media than 110 people were injured, one of them is in serious condition.
There were not any immediate reports on casualties; however, “many people are reportedly buried under ruins and the number of victims may grow,” media quoted Mojtaba Sadeqian as saying. He also said that buildings in suburbs are mostly damaged by 50-80%.
