37 kilograms of "hard" drugs confiscated in 2010
Armenia’s police said at its board meeting that it had registered 811 drug-related crimes, in comparison with 539 cases for the same period in 2009.
It was reported that country’s police succeed in identifying the illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs: there were registered 809 cases, marking a 51,2% increase in comparison with the same period of 2009. Drag trafficking and trade was marked by a double-digit increase (228 cases for six months of 2009 against 423 cases for six months of 2010).
Police officers confiscated 44 kg 646 grams of drugs, including 37 kilograms of “hard” drugs like opium, heroin, and methamphetamine.
