Blasts hit Israeli resort of Eilat
At least five rockets fell in and around the southern Israeli resort of Eilat at about 7:45 am on Monday but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, according to Israeli police.
"Earlier this morning, explosions were reported in the Eilat bay area. No damage or injuries were reported," CNN quotes a statement from the Israel Defense Forces spokesman. "The IDF and the Israel police are searching the area and examining the source of the fire."
Israeli military radio reported that one rocket landed in an open field near Eilat, while two more landed in Jordanian territory and two others landed in the Red Sea. The report said the source of the rockets was Egypt.
One rocket hit the nearby Jordanian port of Aqaba, injuring four people, BBC said.
Eilat is a coastal resort located at Israel's southernmost point; it lies several kilometres west of the border with Jordan, and a similar distance from the border with the Egyptian Sinai.
